$29.00 per kit.

I saw this kit on Home Shopping Network’s site a few weeks back, and it was being touted as good for people with sensitive skin, so I thought I’d give it a try. It’s certainly a nice little kit…the product sizes are very generous to give you quite a few tries of the product before you decide as to whether or not you’d like to spend the money on their full-sized counterparts.

The one thing you first notice about the products is the smell. They all smell nice and clean, nothing perfumey at all. The green apple peel is the only product of the bunch that really has any kind of scent to it.

I’m going to rate each product separately, instead of the whole thing all together. It’s just easier that way, as I loved some of the products in this package more than the others.

Juice Beauty Cleansing MilkCleansing Milk: This is EXCELLENT. My skin LOVED this. After washing with this, my face felt nice and clean…and no tightness. NONE. Nada. Which RARELY happens anymore. The closer I get to 35, the more my facial skin’s rebelling against me. Thank God the rest of my skin’s not following suit. I will definitely be buying a large bottle of this. I figured the smaller size was worth a shot, as the larger size is only 6 ounces, but it’s $22.00.

Juice Beauty Green Apple PeelSensitive Green Apple Peel: I was so looking foward to this. A peel made especially for sensitive skin? Definitely worth my time. I’d had a peel done a couple years back, and my face looked INCREDIBLE after it was done, and felt so soft and smooth. I figured if it was specifically for sensitive skin, it would be okay.

I think you can see where this is going, don’t you? The instructions say, “A mild tingling sensation is normal.” I can deal with that. Actually, there was no tingling at all. I had the peel on for ten minutes as I conditioned my hair in the shower. I rinsed it off, finished up, and got out of the shower.

Even without my glasses on…and everything is a COMPLETE BLUR when I’m not wearing my glasses…I could tell that something was wrong. The blur I saw in the mirror was FLAME RED. MY FACE WAS SIX DIFFERENT SHADES OF RED. My eyes about fell out of my head when I put my glasses back on. That’s about the time I also noticed that my face WAS ON FIRE. I hadn’t noticed in the shower…once I was out of the steam I realized my face was about to burn off.

Made for sensitive skin, my ass. It took TWO HOURS for my face to get back to semi-normal. There was no difference to my skin AT ALL. Frankly, I was scared that my face wouldn’t return to its normal color.

DO NOT WANT. I can’t even give this stuff one star…it’s just THAT AWFUL. I’m lucky my skin didn’t slide off of my face in protest.

NO STARS.

Juice Beauty Antioxidant SerumAntioxidant Serum: After my face finally calmed down from the Great Green Apple Peel Debacle of 2007, I gave the antioxidant serum a try. Woah. My skin ate this stuff up. Probably because it was Sahara Desert dry after the GAP, but I gave it a try a few days later with the same results. One squirt on my fingertips was good enough for one third of my face. It tingles a bit. Tingles = not good. I’ll be passing on the full-sized product…at $45.00 for one little ounce…well, I can get the same thing elsewhere for half the price. Especially when I’m not noticing a single thing different after using this for over a week.

Juice Beauty Oil-Free MoisturizerOil-Free Moisturizer: With a moniker like oil-free, you’d think it’d be a nice, light-weight moisturizer, right? WRONG. GAH. This stuff is AWFUL. It sat on top of my skin and clogged my pores so bad, my face felt like it was suffocating. Moisturizer is supposed to SOFTEN the skin, right? STRIKE TWO. After putting this stuff on, my face felt dry and STICKY. MY FACE DOES NOT LIKE THE STICKY. It automatically gets three strikes because I’m REALLY MAD that the only thing in this kit that’s ANY good is the Cleansing Milk.

Oh, fine…three strikes because quite frankly, this moisturizer SCARES ME.  How’s that?

NO STARS. NONE.

Juice Beauty Hydrating MistHydrating Mist: Yes, just to be fair, I have to use EVERYTHING in the kit. (Okay, okay…I HAVEN’T used the bamboo washcloth. I’m afraid it’s going to rip my skin off the way this whole kit is going!)

This stuff is actually pretty nifty. Spritz, spritz…hey! No burn! It actually cooled my skin down after all the abuse. Hell, it gets three stars on the simple fact that my face wasn’t in flames after spritzing it on. Nothing special to warrant spending $22.00 on the full-sized 6 ounce bottle, though. These mist things annoy me. Spritzing things at my face is just not cool.

Now that the reviews are all said and done, here’s the abridged version. DO NOT waste your money on this kit if you have sensitive skin. You can just go and spend the money on the full-sized Cleansing Milk. This kit was DEFINITELY a waste of $29.00.

My face SERIOUSLY hates me now.
